IS YOUR PROJECT ON ADAT?*

As technology advances, so does Lab 32. At one time we recorded on 1" analog tape, then we progressed to the ADAT* digital format, and now we record directly to computer using some of today's best software.  This new format is quicker than tape based recording and it allows for more accurate recording, mixing, and reproduction.

When we upgraded to this computer based recording, we were left with a lot of projects that had been started on ADAT* but not finished. We kept a few ADAT* machines around so we continue to work from both formats.

This means, even though we record using a computer, we can still work on ADAT* projects that you may have recorded here (or at other studios). Transferring them to computer opens up a whole new world of mixing capabilities, i.e., automated effects, eq, volume and pitch change. With the new software, it is easy to edit a vocal track or copy and paste vocals from one place to another. The quality of the entire recording can be enhanced by the use of plug ins which can bring back that "good old analog sound" and produce a truly professional sound.
